Unit cell diagrams

One method used to describe unit cells is a 2d diagram looking down one of the faces.

Simple cubic

Body-centered cubic

Face-centered cubic

The number next to each atom indicates its depth, denoted in the fraction of unit cell lengths away from the base. If there is more then one atom, the number for each atom is separated by a comma and both numbers are bracketed.
